I support offering a pathway to residency/citizenship to – certain documented/undocumented immigrants. e.g. those with no criminal record, who have lived in the U.S. for 5+ years and have proven to be an asset to our society. Penalties imposed on employers who violate immigration laws. Do not support open borders, but I do support the need to reform our immigration laws for asylum seekers to plead their cases and have a fair chance. Improve diplomatic alliances in other countries to prevent illegal immigration.
Mark P. says:
Rewarding an illegal alien with citizenship after a five year stay is not the way to go. This should never be an option.
Deliris Montanez says:
Mark, I never said an undocumented or illegal immigrant. There are many residents here with a legal status. Also, many students and workers pay their taxes like you and me without any criminal record. I think 5 years is doable, and the bill could pass with bipartisan support with flying colors. 10 years? No. But again, I need to get a hold of and read the entire Dignity ACT to act on it. That will start on Day 1.
